Over the years, I’ve had the chance to repair, inspect, and even install a few clay roofs in Missouri. But if I’m being totally honest — and I always aim to be — I generally recommend my customers steer clear of clay tile roofing here in Missouri . Why? Because our climate and conditions just don’t play well with this material. Sure, it looks great on a postcard from California or Arizona, but Missouri’s unpredictable weather, heavy storms, and seasonal shifts can turn a clay roof into a real headache.
